What can I see and do at Turn Island State Marine Park?
The wooded interior of this small island is a wildlife refuge that you can walk through on designated trails. The 12 camping sites have picnic areas, vault toilets and an attractive pebble beach.
- There is good crabbing around the Island so during the right season you can get a license and then feast on delicious Dungeness crab.
- This Park is easy to access from San Juan Island and also makes a good stop heading west from Lopez Island
Where is Turn Island State Marine Park?
This small Island is so close to San Juan Island it was initially thought to be part of this larger island. Located off the east coast of San Juan near Friday Harbor you can even launch from Beach Access Road for a really quick paddle to Turn. This short road and tiny County Park stem from Turn Point Road. For access with larger boats Friday Harbor is the most convenient port.
When is Turn Island State Marine Park open?
The park is open all year long for both camping and day use. Because there are only 12 sites it’s a good idea to make reservations during the busy summer months.
How much does Turn Island State Marine Park cost?
The park has camping fees between 12-22 dollars, which vary seasonally. You also need to pay for moorage at the Islands few mooring buoys.
